Civics & Media Literacy for Chinese Australians

We are delighted to share that the “Civics & Media Literacy for Chinese Australians” Workshop was successfully held at the NSW Parliament House Theatrette on 10 September 2026.

As one of the community partners, Way In Network was honoured to be part of this meaningful event and to join community members in an evening of learning, discussion and connection.

During the workshop, participants gained a better understanding of how Australia’s democratic system works, how individuals can participate in the democratic process, and how to identify misinformation and misleading news in today’s rapidly changing media environment.

The workshop was conducted in Mandarin and presented in an easy-to-understand and engaging way, allowing participants to exchange ideas and learn more about their rights, responsibilities and role in Australian society.

In addition to the valuable knowledge shared during the workshop, participants also enjoyed the unique opportunity to visit the beautiful and historic NSW Parliament House and experience its impressive architecture. The evening was made even more enjoyable with delicious refreshments and the opportunity to connect with friends and other members of the community.

It was truly a wonderful evening where we could learn, connect, enjoy beautiful architecture and share delicious food together.
We would like to sincerely thank all the organisers, speakers, community partners and participants who contributed to the success of this event.
We look forward to participating in more meaningful community activities in the future and continuing to learn, connect and grow together!
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event such a memorable and successful occasion!
