Women’s Health & Wellbeing Day

On Saturday, 19 September 2026, the Women’s Health & Wellbeing Day brought women and families together at the NICM Health Research Institute, Westmead, for a meaningful day of health education, wellness activities and community connection. Around 200 people, including dedicated volunteers, participated in the event, reflecting the strong support and enthusiasm of the local community.

The program featured expert health presentations, including a session by Dr Echo Xie, Gynaecological Oncologist, on common gynaecological cancers, prevention and treatment. Participants learned about the importance of cervical screening, early detection and treatment options, and had the opportunity to ask questions directly.

With the important message “Cervical screening saves your life,” the event highlighted the importance of prevention, early detection and regular health screening, while creating a warm and welcoming environment where women could learn, relax and connect with one another.

A second presentation by Dr Tracy Ma, a registered Chinese medicine practitioner, acupuncturist and accredited herbalist, explored traditional Chinese medicine approaches to women’s wellbeing, including nutrition, lifestyle and ways to maintain feminine vitality.

The event also offered a wide range of interactive activities, including pelvic floor exercises, singing bowl relaxation, healing orchid planting, scarf styling, dance activities, skin health checks and seasonal styling. These activities added a fun and practical dimension to the day, encouraging participants to take care of both their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Way In Network was proud to support the event as an Event Sponsor and Corporate Sponsor, contributing both financial support and hands-on assistance to help make the day a success. Through its sponsorship and active participation, Way In Network demonstrated its ongoing commitment to supporting community wellbeing, women’s health and meaningful charitable initiatives.

The contribution from Way In Network was warmly recognised and praised by CanRevive, who expressed appreciation for the organisation’s generosity, support and willingness to contribute time and resources to the event.

Adding another special touch to the day, Way In Network member Lisa Harris generously donated beautiful orchids that she had personally grown and nurtured, contributing them to the event in support of the charitable cause. Her thoughtful donation not only brought natural beauty to the occasion but also reflected the spirit of giving and community care that was at the heart of the event.

Lisa’s beautiful orchids became a wonderful symbol of how individual acts of kindness can come together to make a difference. From corporate sponsorship to personal contributions, Way In Network members showed that supporting the community can take many forms — through funding, volunteering, sharing skills and simply giving from the heart.

The event also provided an important opportunity for women of different generations to come together. Mothers, daughters, families and community members were able to share experiences, learn from health professionals and enjoy activities together.

Conducted in Cantonese and Mandarin, the event also helped make important health information more accessible to the Chinese-speaking community in Western Sydney.

Organised by CanRevive and supported by a range of community and health organisations, the event was proudly funded by the NSW Government and Cancer Institute NSW. The Women’s Health & Wellbeing Day was more than a health education event. It was a celebration of women, wellbeing, generosity and community spirit. Through the combined efforts of CanRevive, health professionals, supporting organisations, sponsors, volunteers and community members such as Way In Network and Lisa Harris, the day successfully created a space where women could learn, connect, relax and feel supported.

Way In Network is honoured to have played a part in this meaningful community initiative and looks forward to continuing to support causes that promote health, wellbeing and positive community connections.
